Additional money for Disclosure Pilot Programs & Studies

President Obama included an addtional $250 million in his 2012 budget proposal for malpractice alternatives – and disclosure pilot programs will be considered for this grant money.

Last year, AHRQ handed out $25 million in grant dollars, and several disclosure pilot programs & studies were funded.  Already, positive data and papers generated by this funding is being shared with the public.

Obviously, it’s a long way to go before the 2012 budget will be finalized, but this is an encouraging sign.
