Still Seeking Input on Gag Order Project
In the next month Sorry Works! will release a paper on gag orders or confidentiality clauses in medical malpractice settlements. However, we are still soliciting input and perspectives. What is your experience or perspective on gag orders? Are they necessary, or not? What benefit do they bring, or what harm do they inflict? Can medical malpractice cases be settled without confidentiality clauses, or not? Can we design a way to close cases that does not prohibit patients and families from sharing the facts of their cases with other people? What is the perspective of physicians concerning gag orders...and can that perspective be changed? If so, how? Any other opinions, perspectives, or stories to share concerning confidentiality clauses?
So far, we have heard from attorneys (defense and plaintiffs), risk managers, patient advocates, clinicians, hospital administrators, nursing home executives, and many others. We want to hear from you! All responses will be kept confidential...you can respond to this e-mail, or call me directly at 618-559-8168.
We look forward to hearing from you.
