Today, the final five (5) volunteers are needed to complete the study. Can you help?

Project Details
Jeff seeks to understand the long-term feelings, emotions, and recovery of those impacted by adverse medical events (both consumers and clinicians), and how healthcare organizations can do a better job helping everyone heal after something goes wrong. Jeff wants to interview forty (40) patients, families, physicians and clinicians who have lived through adverse events. This is not a huge time commitment…one confidential interview lasting approximately 60 minutes and a potential follow up call to clarify points and ensure accuracy. The study seeks volunteers who experienced an adverse medical event at least five years ago (or greater than five years ago). The research project has been approved by the IRB at Case Western Reserve University, so it meets all ethical and legal guidelines. VOLUNTEER RECRUITMENT FOR RESEARCH STUDY
Researchers at Case Western Reserve University are recruiting volunteers for possible participation in a research study to understand long-term recovery, reconciliation, and restorative justice after patient medical injury.
Volunteers Requested
Patients that experienced a medical injury where the medical injury event was at least five (5) years ago.
Immediate family members of patients that experienced a medical injury where the patient is less than 18 years old or the patient did not survive the medical injury and where the medical injury event was at least five (5) years ago.
Physicians involved in a patient medical injury event and where the medical injury event was at least five (5) years ago.
Caregivers involved in a patient medical injury event (e.g. nurse, paramedic, respiratory therapist, etc.) and where the medical injury event was at least five (5) years ago.
Procedures and Duration
Volunteers that agree to participate in this research, would do the following things:
Participate in an interview lasting approximately 60 minutes. It is recommended that the interview will be conducted during your personal time outside of work hours and at a location other than your place of employment.
Agree to a confidential audio recording to transcribe a de-identified record of the interview to ensure accuracy in recording your remarks.
Potentially agree to a follow-up call, only if necessary, to clarify points and to ensure accuracy. Any such call would take place within two weeks of the original interview, last no more than 30 minutes and will not be audio recorded.
